This Arms Race activity is a great way to introduce and/or assess students understanding of the Arms Buildup/Cold War and have a a little fun! This activity enables students to show you how much they can learn and/or know in a engaging activity! Students will not only be assessed on their ability to work with others in a fast-paced activity, but they will also be challenged by analyzing ways the countries involved were motivated, facilitated, and the consequences to the arms build during the Cold War.
In this arms race activity, students will be challenged to:
- Match prominent scientists to their description.
- Analyze possible motivations for building up the arms during the Cold War.
- Match major events to their corresponding dates and countries.
- Assess major places, people, or things that occurred during the Cold War.
- Analyze consequences to the Arms Buildup/Cold War.
