How I gained my confidence in education…
My first classroom was a whirlwind. I was thrown into teaching grades 7 through 12 with basically no curriculum to follow.
I could’ve followed the curriculum in the textbooks, but… they were so dry! I couldn’t bring myself to do it, so I designed my own curriculum for the entire year for all of my classes.
This year gave me a passion for curriculum development that has followed throughout my career in education. Furthermore, it gave me such confidence in the classroom.
